THE WEDDING DAY
It's just over 3 months until the big day so
we thought we'd let you all know the plans so you can choose which of your
beautiful summer dresses is most appropriate to wear, JB i hope you're planning to wear something
short and lacy...

We will be starting the day at the wedding venue - Orleans House Gallery, with the main event due to start at 1.30pm.

If you are coming from Richmond then you may like to enjoy the walk there in the morning and can cross the river near Ham House via Hammertons Ferry who have been operating the short crossing since 1908.
The walk is less than a mile along the River Thames, directions from The Petersham Hotel are here.
After the ceremony we will be having drinks in the grounds and putting on some food from one of the rear barn rooms.
Menu to be confirmed but we're looking at a British ploughmans style theme - lots of cheeses, chutneys and breads.
We'll be at the venue until around 5pm.
We will then move on to the evening venue - The White Swan, Twickenham, which is a short (100m) walk away. Rachel and I are planning to make the trip over via the river in a rowing boat.
If others would like to enjoy the river too this is your opportunity, Hammertons Ferry rent rowing boats by the hour, you can find more info on their website above.
The rest of the evening will be spent at the pub and hopefully out on the jetty - enjoying the river views, dancing and getting rather tipsy.
We will put more food on at the White Swan, quite possibly a hog roast (with token veggie option), nothing formal but we want to make sure that everyone has enough to eat to last the duration.
The party will finish at 11pm when we will get taxis back to various hotels. Rachel and I are staying at The Petersham where there is a residents bar which guests can also drink at, we will be enjoying one last glass of bubbly before bed so please join us if you are staying nearby.

WHERE TO STAY
Now that the news is out that Rachel and I are getting married on
the 17th August 2013 we have heard rumours that all the hotels
in the area are getting booked up with well wishers, fans and paparazzi.
As you are part of the exclusive few that will be invited to the wedding we thought you should get some hotel recommendations as early as possible enabling you to get something booked and hopefully beat the rush.
Rachel and I are staying here -
The Petersham Hotel
It is a lovely hotel, close by to where we live at the moment and is in an area that means a lot to us. We are planning on heading back here at the end of the day and having a few more drinks in the bar with anyone still able to stand, or at least hold a drink.... The next day, Sunday, we are planning to go to a pub in Richmond for a few drinks and some lunch, everyone is more than welcome but please do not feel obliged to spend any more time with us, unless your name is Helena Foster.
If you'd like something close by that is a little cheaper, or if The Petersham is full, there are a couple of other hotels a stones through away -
Richmond Hill Hotel
Richmond Gate Hotel
Also a couple of smaller options -
The Duke's Head (Our local Irish Pub and B&B)
Rose of York (Adjacent to The Petersham)
If you can't stay at anything above then firstly search around Richmond Upon Thames, or also around the wedding venue which is close to Twickenham, post code - TW1 3DJ
We have scheduled the ceremony for 1.30pm so if you require space to get ready you may have to book in on the Friday and make a weekend of it, check in at most hotels is 2pm.
Also to get the best rate try searching through Tripadvisor as well as the sites above, some websites seem to offer discounted rates if you pay in advance.
